I have had so many people tell me that when they try CBD, they don’t “feel” anything. CBD is not THC. Therefore, you will not feel the “high” that most people associate with Cannabis. That does not mean that CBD is not working.
How does CBD work?
When you take a vitamin, you do not “feel” it working. But, you know that it is doing good things inside your body. The same is true with CBD. You are not going to “feel” it working. But, it is doing good things inside your body. CBD works with the body’s Endocannabinoid System (ECS). This is the system that regulates our physiology, mood and everyday experiences. In other words, it keeps our body in balance and operating at optimal capacity. Stress and diet play a major roll in throwing the body out of balance. When the body is not balanced, you may get sick often or struggle with mood disorders. CBD helps to activate the receptors in the ECS which helps to eliminate these issues.
Benefits of CBD
The longer you take CBD the more benefits you will see from it. They are subtle changes. You aren’t going to wake up one morning feeling like a new person. But, over time you will start to notice things like you are sleeping better at night or you have more energy and focus during the day. CBD can help you feel less stressed or have less anxiety. And you may begin to notice that you are not getting sick as often as you used to.
CBD is not like other drugs or supplements that your body builds up a resistance to and you have to keep increasing the dosage. It actually has the opposite effect. As your body comes back into balance and you start to get healthier, you will actually need less CBD.
Factors to consider when taking CBD
There are some factors that you should take into consideration when taking CBD.
- Your physical health plays a role in the effects you will see. If you are relatively healthy, CBD will likely not have a big of an impact on you as it would for someone with health issues.
- CBD comes in different strengths. You will need to experiment a little to find the right amount for you. If you have been taking it for a while and really don’t notice any changes, you probably are not taking enough. Increase the amount you are taking a little bit at a time until you start to notice any change at all.
- The quality of the CBD product you are taking may not be good. There are a lot of different brands on the market right now with very little regulation as to what goes in them. Always look for organic, full spectrum products. Quality brands should always be tested by an independent third party lab. Retailers that sell those brands are happy to show you those lab results. If a retailer does not have third party lab tests, don’t buy their products!!
So, just because you don’t “feel” anything when you take CBD does not mean it is not working. If you are new to taking CBD or haven’t tried it yet, we recommend taking it twice a day, everyday for at least 30 days. Then you can make a determination to see if you are seeing the benefits of CBD.
